You will firstly need to create an Asset Type and this can be achieved by navigating to the “Settings” tab and then clicking the icon named “Asset Types”.
To add an Asset, simply click on the “Asset Types – Add” icon in the top right hand corner of your screen named.
A pop up screen will appear where you will be prompted to input the Asset Type name and choose a colour code for the new asset.
Once the asset has been created, you will then need to link this to a property. To do this, simply go to your Properties List and select the relevant property and then once on the Property Details Page, click onto the sub heading named “Asset Management”.
On this page you will be able to view All Properties Assets by clicking the icon named “Assets – All Properties” and this will apply to all properties the user has access to, or you can add an Asset to the already selected property by clicking the icon named “Add Asset”.
Once you have selected “Add Asset”, a pop up screen will appear where you will need to input the relevant information such as the Description of the asset, the Type, (which will be a drop down menu where you will be able to choose the newly added Asset Type) the Serial Number, Location and Quantity. You will also be able to upload any documents here if required.
Once all the necessary information has been inputted, click “Save” which will now link this Asset to the property.
You are able to edit your asset at any time by clicking on the “Edit” icon on the far right hand side of the screen. You can also archive an asset if it is no longer needed and this again can be done by editing the asset and under the option “Is Asset Live?” if you placed this as “No” and save, the asset will now show as being archived.
When editing / updating an asset, you will also have the option to link an asset to a unit if the unit functionality is turned on and if a unit has been created against the property.
To view any archived assets, navigate to Asset Register and then select the “Archived” tab and this will show you any inactive assets.
If you need to remove an Asset type as a whole, this can be done by navigating to the “Settings” tab and “Asset Types” and then click the Red Cross under the delete column on the relevant asset, this would remove the asset from the system. However if the asset is still active and has outstanding inspections / actions, RiskWise will not allow you to remove the asset type as an error message will appear. Before you can remove the asset, all outstanding inspections and actions will need to be completed.
You can also view any Assets from your “Action List”. There will be a column named “Asset” on the right hand side and this column will show any assets that relate to an Action against the property.
