The User Account Switch functionality will allow users with access to more than one RiskWise system to easily switch between them removing the current process of having to log out of one client system into another.
The functionality can also be used if a user has more than one account for the same RiskWise system, i.e. a ‘Building Manager’ and an ‘Admin’ account.
Please note:
Data is not shared across any systems.
When you click the ‘Log in’ button, it logs you out of the current account and in to the new one. This is not a replicate of the ‘Login As’ functionality.
As a User who has the ‘User Account Switcher’ functionality switched on, you will see a new icon in the top bar which when accessed, opens a pop up displaying all current system links, verified or otherwise.
To setup a system link you will firstly need to know your security key in the system you are wishing to link to, this can be found from one of three places:
- Icon found in the top bar as shown above
- Clicking on your name in the top right hand corner as shown above
- ‘Settings’ tab and then ‘Setup User Account Switcher’ as shown below
To create a new System Link from your current system you are logged into and depending on your permissions please click on one of the above three suggested routes and copy your security key from the system you are wishing to link to.
Then click ‘Add system link’ or ‘Add User Account Connection’ to add a link for a system that has the switch turned on.
A popup box will appear where you will be prompted to enter your:
Security Key: Paste the Security Key you copied in the step above here.
System ID: Enter the four-digit ID of the system you want to link to
Username: Enter your username in the account you want to link to
You then have two buttons to select from: ‘Link to my current account only’ or ‘Link to all my valid accounts’
Link to my current account only: This option will create a User Account Switcher link between the system you’re creating it in, and the destination system. For example, if I’m working in ‘System A’ and set up a switchable user account to ‘System B’, a two-way link ONLY will be created, regardless of any other connected accounts.
Link to all my valid accounts: This option will create a switchable user account link between the system you’re creating it in, and ALL of your current switchable systems. For example, if I’m working in ‘System A’ and set up a switchable user account to ‘System B’, it will create a ‘System B’ link to ALL my verified system/user accounts. The purpose of this is to reduce the admin task of creating links. Example B. Systems A/B/C & D are all linked. I’m in ‘System A’ and want to create a new link to ‘System E’. Once verified and approved, ‘System E’s’ link will be added to systems B/C/D, as well as A.
Once all the information has been populated please click ‘Save’.
You will now need to logout of the current system and login to the system you have just created a link for and click on the below icon which will open a pop up displaying all current system links, verified or otherwise.
Clicking the ‘Login’ Icon will then confirm which system you are logging into:
