In order to log meter readings for a property, you will need to navigate to the ’Environmental Management’ module on the system and then select the property required from the ‘Property List’ tab and then select ‘Utility Meters’ from the green bar at the top of the screen.
This will bring up the meter readings screen showing the meters stored against that property, and any meter readings already entered, for the time period you are in.
If the property has more than one type of meter it is possible to filter on the meter type, such as only electricity meters, by selecting the required option from the ‘Show Utility Type’ list. Select ‘Combined' to see all meter types available.
Meter readings can be entered by clicking the light bulb icons at the end of each row or bottom of each column.
Selecting from a column light bulb will bring up a popup box in which to enter any appropriate readings for one or all meters for that month. The fields to enter are ‘Meter Reading Value’, ‘Date of Reading’ and ‘Date Recorded’.
You can also add in any appropriate notes for that reading if required in ‘Comments/ Justification’, this is intended for occasions when a meter reading might be particularly unusual so an explanation may be useful.
Alternatively clicking on a row light bulb will show a similar field for which entries for an entire year can be input for a particular meter. This is particularly useful for new properties when several months of back data needs to be recorded.
Once the meter entries are confirmed select 'Save' to confirm.
Please note, all meters have a cap equal to the number of digits on the meter, this is intended for the system to be able to mark when an older meter has reset by moving beyond its cap and cycling back through 0. The system will also note when a meter reading is higher or lower than normal and ask for a note to be input.
