Requesting authorisation can be accessed from within the 'Action Detail' screen. On the right hand side of the action screen, you will see a list of options which you can perform, one of which is ‘Request Authorisation’.
When this button is clicked, a new form will appear, allowing the user to enter a reason for the authorisation request. Depending on permissions, a user can also choose who the request should be sent to, by selecting an individual user from the drop down menu. If this option does not appear, these will be sent to all system administrators.
Once this has been submitted, the request will be sent to the chosen user or system administrators within the system.
Authorisation requests made will appear in the appropriate user’s task list for easy access. Each request will provide the details of the action as well as of the request to enable the user to decide whether to grant permission.
When granting or denying a request, the user will be asked to enter a brief note to provide justification for their decision.
Requests for permission can be made several times, and to different people.
