The ‘request extension’ facility is an optional area within the system and may not be available for all users.
An extension can be requested on any action within the system, where the user considers the time scales are unrealistic or un-achievable. A request can be made to defer the action target date.
The ‘request extension’ button is shown on the right of the action details screen. When this button is clicked, a form will appear, allowing the user to enter a new date and a reason for this new date being requested.
The user can also choose who the extension request should be sent to, by selecting an individual user from the drop down menu.
Once this has been submitted, the request will be sent to the chosen user within the system.
The ‘request extension’ facility allows for the request to stay within the system, avoiding any external email discussions, but also ensuring that full history of the action progress remains.
If the request is granted the action target date is amended to the new date however the details of the extension remain in the action history.
